Vernissage | Ausgezeichnet! Wundervolle Kinderbücher

In the organizer's words:

An exhibition about contemporary illustrators from France, Belgium and Switzerland: come to the opening at the CCFF on November 20 and meet children's book illustrator Marc Boutavant in person!

Picture book art from French-speaking countries is considered to be particularly creative and diverse and brings together numerous iconic works. The artists featured in this exhibition are some of the most exciting voices of today: Beatrice Alemagna, Pierre Alexis, Blexbolex, Marc Boutavant, Anne Crausaz, Rébecca Dautremer, Lea Viana Ferreira, Camille Jourdy, Magali le Huche, Marine Schneider, Lolita Séchan and Julia Spiers. All of them received awards from renowned experts at the largest festival for children's and young adult literature in France, the Salon du livre et de la Presse jeunesse (SLPJ) in Montreuil near Paris.

The exhibition "Excellent! Wonderful Children's Books" is dedicated to young and old readers and invites you on a thematic tour through the diverse world of children's and young adult literature.

On the evening of the vernissage, we are particularly pleased to welcome Marc Boutavant in person! Born in 1970 in Dijon, France, the illustrator lives and works in Paris. He is one of the style-defining artists of his generation and is best known for his colorful children's book illustrations. His characters - including the bear "Mouk" and the blue donkey "Ariol" - have also long since found their way onto television screens.

Marc Boutavant is offering a workshop for illustration enthusiasts of all ages on Thursday, November 20 at 4:00 pm. The author will present his work using his own illustrations, answer questions from the audience and introduce his creative drawing process, whereby participants are expressly invited to actively take part themselves.

Registrations for the workshop can be sent to kultur@ccf-fr.de by 17.11.
