Cappella Montensis invites you to an extraordinary concert in Unterbarmen. On November 16, 2025, the ensemble will perform its program "Von den letzten Dingen" at 4:00 pm in the Herz-Jesu-Kirche (Hünefeldstr. 52).
In it, Cappella Montensis dedicates itself to a profound and thought-provoking theme: songs for funerals and for commemorating the dead. Numerous works by famous composers such as Mozart and Verdi, who set the Requiem to music, come from this tradition, which has its roots in the Middle Ages. With its concert, the ensemble provides a unique insight into Gregorian chant and conveys what such music might have sounded like 1000 years ago. The program is rounded off with organ works, including those by
Robert Schumann.
