Reading promotion campaign:
BOOK A LOOK is a simple, playful and perhaps precisely for this reason effective reading promotion program for children in German-speaking countries. Children read aloud to hairdresser Danny Beuerbach in exchange for a free haircut.
After training as a hairdresser, Danny Beuerbach traveled the world, worked in renowned salons and made a name for himself as a #speedcutter & festival hairdresser. The "Vorlesefriseur", who was awarded the German Reader's Prize, lives as a freelance hairstylist in Munich and regularly tours Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His children's book "Der magische Frisör" was published by Ravensburger Verlag.
In summer 2026, Danny Beuerbach will be traveling with this reading promotion project as part of the official German delegation to the Feria Internacional del Libro (FILGUA) in Guatemala.
