"Attention biodiversity" - we have an exciting lecture for adults under this motto. This event is part of our Biodiversity Week program, initiated by FEdA* (Research Initiative for the Conservation of Biodiversity) and taking place throughout Germany.
As a behavioral ecologist, Marie Herberstein is very familiar with the multifaceted behaviors of animals. From a human perspective, some animals seem completely strange at first - until we understand exactly how they are integrated into the ecosystem that surrounds them. Certain behaviors can make the difference between life and death - and therefore whether a species survives or dies out. Only when we understand the larger purpose of animal behavior can we actively help them thrive in their environment. This is how animals and their ecosystems can be sustainably protected: by understanding how they function.
The talk starts at 6 pm in the Tiger Lounge and will be followed by a discussion and Q&A session until around 7:30 pm.
