Colorful and lively - just like the Ottensen district, so is its Christmas market: from Boddenpunsch to Feuerzangenbowle. With its special atmosphere, the Christmas market invites Hamburgers to take a leisurely stroll with their children.

The Christmas market in Ottensen is unrivaled in its variety and presents new, interesting vendors every year. With over 50 lovingly designed huts, including rustic punch and mulled wine stands and culinary delights from all over the world, this Christmas market is considered one of the most authentic markets in the city.

The Christmas market for the whole family

In keeping with the family-rich district, the Christmas program for young and old is colourful and varied - just like Ottensen itself. A merry-go-round makes its rounds, the popular Knickebein witch invites the little ones to join in with Christmas music-making and the puppet theater with its traditional children's puppet stage adds to the joy of the festive season. A special highlight: on December 6, St. Nicholas himself will drop by for a flying visit and is sure to have a little something hidden in his sack for the young visitors. Young vendors up to the age of 12 can reserve a place in the dwarf hut and sell their own handmade and baked goods.

Culinary classics at Christmas time

The Christmas market in Ottensen is also worth a culinary visit. From white mulled wine and traditional Feuerzangenbowle, to classics such as freshly prepared kale with fried potatoes and fried eggs, to exotic specialties, the market leaves nothing to be desired. Those who like to experiment can also try vegan currywurst, Polish specialties or hand bread with different fillings and vegetable sticks.
