80 years of the end of the war

Dramaturgy course

On May 8, 1945, the Second World War in Europe ended with the surrender of the German Wehrmacht. This marked the beginning of a process of upheaval and reconstruction as well as a reorientation of society and culture. The traces of this period can be traced in Munich in particular.

The Master's students of dramaturgy are taking the 80th anniversary of the end of the war in Europe as an opportunity to explore this topic in a performative tour of the Prinzregententheater. From the perspectives of reconstruction, dismantling, conversion and demolition, they will deal with the charged history of Prinzregentenplatz. Who lived and worked here? What stories do the buildings tell us? What was the Prinzregenten Theater used for and what changes did the program undergo? This opens up new perspectives on a place that is characterized by change and remembrance.
