Hedges are important retreats for many plants and animals and they also offer tasty and healthy things for us humans. Autumn provides a variety of edible and extremely healthy wild plants, such as the well-known rose hip and the lesser-known hawthorn.
Although there are fewer fresh green herbs, the trees and shrubs now offer us their colorful and vitamin-rich fruits, which we can use to strengthen our immune system before winter. In addition to information on biology, ecology and cultural history, nature educator and certified wilderness chef Stefanie Sauerland will show you which wild plants we can eat and how varied they can be prepared. We will taste homemade wild fruit jam and finish with a warming liqueur and the recipes to take home.
