Wir müssen reden: Demokratie @Kiosk Sommerblut Kulturfestival

In the organizer's words:

With the discussion format "We need to talk", the FWT wants to challenge and redesign the theater as a place of radical imagination. The major crises of our time are coming thick and fast and demand courageous, unconventional answers. The format brings voices from various social fields to the stage in order to conduct controversial debates, build bridges and open up new perspectives.

The dialog will take place in a temporary "kitchen for all" in the foyer of the FWT, which will become a stage for encounters and exchange. Following the podium, a long table will invite people to eat together and discuss issues as equals.

The guests are

Elizaveta Khan (she/he) is managing director of the New German Organization and migrant institution Integrationshaus e.V., lecturer at various universities for social work, speaker on the topics of post-colonialism, disintegration, empowerment and intersectionality. Professionally in a powerful situation, as a foreigner in the Integration Council of the City of Cologne, practiced in resistance against injustice and for democracy and solidarity.

Dr. Thamy Pogrebinschi (she/her) is a research associate at the Social Science Research Center Berlin, the Center for Civil Society Research and teaches at the Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She researches democratic innovation, citizen participation and the role of technology in civil society, particularly in Latin America. With the LATINNO project, she built the largest database on democratic innovation in the region. Her book "Innovating Democracy" was published in 2023.
