PICK OF THE DAY

You cannot miss this event.

In the organizer's words:

+++ THE WORKSHOP IS FULLY BOOKED +++

  • Registration required

In this workshop, participants will step into the role of “active listeners” in Leigh de Vries’ artwork IT’S OK TO FEEL THINGS. The goal is to be fully present without offering advice—an experience that blends performance art and mindfulness practice. In the second half of the workshop, participants will put what they’ve learned into practice directly in the exhibition.

In this workshop, participants will learn Leigh de Vries’ technique of“active listening”—a technique that lies somewhere between performance art and mindfulness exercises. The role of the active listener is to be present without trying to help. Participants learn to let go of the need to know something, fix things, or offer solutions, and become open, attentive listeners.

The workshop will be led by Jonas Klinkenberg from the DHMD. Register at jonas.klinkenberg@dhmd.de

The artwork is on view alongside other works by the renowned artist Leigh de Vries in the exhibition“How Are You? The Exhibition on Mental Health.”She lives in the United Kingdom and works internationally as a multidisciplinary artist. In her participatory works, she brings people together in shared experiences and focuses on awareness and emotional perception.
