Writers´ Thursday Special mit u.a. Judith Holofernes, Alexa Hennig von Lange und Mille Petrozza von „Kreator“ x Harbour Front Literaturfestival Hamburg
In the organizer's words:
The literary salon “Writers’ Thursday,” run by journalist and author Rainer Schmidt in Berlin above the legendary Borchardt restaurant, has long since become the capital’s most sought-after literary event. Here, several authors take turns reading short, striking excerpts from their works.
Special attention is always paid to the relationship between literature and music. Musicians draw inspiration from literature, and authors from music—and pop culture plays an important role in many novels. The boundaries between artists in the fields of music and literature are blurring…
This fits right in with the Harbor Front Literature Festival, and so a major “Writers’ Thursday Special” will take place in Hamburg for the second time this October. Participants include Judith Holofernes, Alexa Hennig von Lange, and Mille Petrozza, the frontman of “Kreator.” They will read from their books and discuss the interplay between their art forms.
Judith Holofernes(*1976) is a musician, lyricist, and author. She became known as the singer, guitarist, and songwriter for “Wir sind Helden,” one of the most influential German-language bands of the 2000s. Since the band went on hiatus, she has been working as a solo artist and publishing literary works. Her most recent autobiographical books are *Die Träume anderer Leute* and *Hummelhirn*.
Alexa Hennig von Lange(b. 1973) is a writer. With her debut novel “Relax,” she became one of the best-known authors of her generation in 1997. She writes novels, young adult books, and plays. In her “Heimkehr” trilogy, she intertwines personal family history with contemporary German history. Her novel “Alte Pfade” is scheduled for release in 2026.
Mille Petrozza(*1967) is a musician, singer, guitarist, and songwriter. For more than forty years, he has been the frontman of Kreator, one of the most internationally renowned German thrash metal bands. In 2025, his autobiography, “Your Heaven, My Hell – How Heavy Metal Saved Me,” co-authored with Torsten Groß, was published. Petrozza lives in Essen and Berlin.
