We invite young and old and everyone in between to join us at the table, eat together and discuss. In this edition, we are teaming up with Teens Full of Ideas - Beirat an der Parkaue to address the topic of children's rights. We discuss existing inequalities, take a look at the situation of young people during the pandemic and envision a future with more participation. Federica Teti captures discussions, thoughts and impressions of the evening in live drawings.
Simbi Schwarz, activist and author, describes the effects of adultism on the reality of young people's lives in her book "Adultism and Critical Adulthood". We talk to her about this and how she takes an empowering approach to the everyday discrimination of young people by adults.
Orcun Ilter, Chairman of the Berlin State Students' Committee, tells us about his work at the LSA, the only democratic representation of students' interests in Berlin. We take a look at the existing education system with him and discuss positioning, successes and future plans.
We talk to Christoph Schickhardt, a philosopher specializing in child ethics, about his book "Nicht systemrelevant. A review of coronavirus policy from a child ethics perspective", we will talk about the fundamentals of children's rights and focus on various areas of life. We will discuss the past crisis as a reflection of society and discuss urgently needed child rights reform proposals.
