Drei Ikonen. Drei Geschichten. Eine Subkultur. Lesung!
In the organizer's words:
Three icons. Three stories. One subculture. Live Reading!
We're proud to welcome Eddie Piller and Tobi Dahmen and Martin Ollmann for a special afternoon of readings and conversation during the Cologne Soul Weekender 2026.
A deep dive into the spirit that connects Mods, Northern Soul, Jazz, Scooterboys, and the timeless love for style and sound.
📖 Eddie Piller - Clean Living Under Difficult Circumstances
Founder of Acid Jazz Records, broadcaster, DJ, and cultural historian, Eddie takes us through a lifetime immersed in British subculture - from Mod revival and 80s Soho to the ongoing rhythm of modernist life.
📖 Tobi Dahmen - bicycle mod
Tobi takes us into his world: the unique combination of mod culture, style, music and a passion for urban cycling. A book about attitude, aesthetics and the lifestyle of a vibrant subculture.
📖 Martin Ollmann - No Way Too Far - On The Run
Martin doesn't write about subculture from a distance - he tells its story from the inside. Growing up in a small town in the 1980s, the protagonist discovers the world of mods: sharply tailored suits, 60s soul on the turntable, all-nighters until dawn - and the search for belonging.

Three icons. Three stories. One subculture.
We are delighted to welcome three special guests to the Cologne Soul Weekender 2026: Eddie Piller and Tobi Dahmen and Martin Ollmann - for an exclusive reading and discussion about the subculture that has shaped generations - from Mods and Northern Soul to Jazz, Scooterboys and Lambretta.
📖 Eddie Piller - Clean Living Under Difficult Circumstances
Founder of Acid Jazz Records, DJ, radio producer and chronicler of British subculture. Eddie takes us on a journey through the London of the 80s, the mod revival era, and the unbroken spirit of style, soul and attitude.
Martin doesn't write about subculture from a distance - he tells it from the inside. Growing up in a small town in the 1980s, the protagonist discovers the world of mods: sharp-cut suits, 60s soul on the turntable, all-nighters until dawn - and the search for belonging. What begins as a style becomes an attitude. With a driver's license, he becomes a scooter boy, goes to runs, to England, experiences friendship, escalation, freedom - until finally the Bundeswehr drafts him.
