Slavi-Art

In the artist's words:

Slavica Kirchner was born in Bosnia in 1964. In the 1990s, the artist fled the war in Yugoslavia in the hope of a life of peace and safety for herself and her two young daughters. Years later, much too late, she was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. The war she experienced is reflected in her body. This unexpected turn of events brought new challenges, but even in this darkness she found light through her art. Art has accompanied her since her youth, a faithful companion in the stormy times of her life. Her experiences and the associated development are reflected in her works. As a self-taught artist, she sees art not only as a means of expression, but rather as a mouthpiece that carries her thoughts, emotions and experiences into the world. Her exhibitions are not about her personal story, but rather about triggering a reflection that encourages every visitor to find themselves in her works. For her, art is a mirror that reflects not only the outer beauty, but also the inner strength and courage of each individual.
