THE FEMINIST SPORTS FESTIVAL "FAUST AUF DIE FRESSE" IS, IN THE TRUEST SENSE OF THE WORD, A MOVING COUNTER-NARRATIVE TO THE SO-CALLED CANON —THESE STORIES THAT ARE CONSTANTLY BEING REHEATED.*

*Editor’s note: By “canon,” we mean works across various disciplines in literature and theater, as well as exhibition concepts, that consistently favor already famous—and mostly male—visual artists, thereby reproducing predominantly male perspectives. We want to come together with FLINTAs and all allies and interested parties for an immersive, athletic, and theatrical event to declare war on the canon and its “we’ve always done it this way” attitude. That’s why actresses and female athletes will be competing in various Olympic disciplines. 

SPORTS IS ABOUT COMPETITION, STRENGTH, AND RIVALRY, BUT ALSO COMMUNITY, TEAM SPIRIT, AND HEALTH. MEN AND WOMEN DO NOT COMPETE AGAINST EACH OTHER BECAUSE WOMEN ARE SUPPOSEDLY PHYSICALLY INFERIOR. BUT HOW CAN WOMEN USE THEIR STRENGTHS TO WIN ALL THE SAME?

THEY SAY HISTORY IS ALWAYS WRITTEN BY THE WINNERS.

IT'S TIME FOR WOMEN TO REWRITE HISTORY.
