Whether for the film festival or during the summer open-air cinema: LICHTER has been known for many years for showing films in Frankfurt's most exciting and unusual locations. So what could be more obvious than showing movies on the city's high rooftop terraces? After all, Frankfurt is one of the very few cities in Europe with a real skyline.
In summer 2022, the time had come for the first time: from July 21 to August 13, the HIGH RISE CINEMA took place on four different rooftop terraces in the Main metropolis. To places that are normally hidden from most people. There, high up, you not only got a spectacular view of the skyscrapers, but the visit to the cinema also became something very special. Modern classics and current cinema highlights were shown, true to the motto: High Rise Cinema meets high-end cinephilia.
