In her workshop Holistic Reading Group, Grace Ndiritu leads a collective reading of John Berger’s essay Permanent Red (1960) on hope and realism in art, complemented by meditation breaks, letter writing, and a word-play game.

The workshop takes place in the Protest Room on the Bel Etage of K21, which Ndiritu has designed with her Protest Carpets series. These carpets depict historical protests, such as the Women’s Strike in Washington DC in 1970 and demonstrations for Indigenous Australian land rights in 1972.
