Together with the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program, we cordially invite you to a weekend programme by current Berlin fellow Sage Ni'Ja Whitson.

On Friday, the artist will activate their book, Transtraterrestrial: Dark Matter and Black Divinities, in a performance installation. Taking place after sunset, Whitson, as Trans Trappist the Extraterrestrial, leads witnesses through an unworlding that amplifies the dark through the aches of what is.

Since 2017, Whitson has created a constellation of art|works, entitled The Unarrival Experiments, projects centering dark matter and dark energy through a Transembodied lens. The works connect astrophysics, Yorùbá spirituality, and other African Cosmologies, building what they’ve coined a “sacred scientific”. At SAVVY, Whitson premieres the first performance installation of the book, Transtraterrestrial  – part performance reading, part ritual, part indoor and outdoor space activation.
