Australian Vocalist Tim Pitchford to Perform First International Gig with Johannes Apfel at Kooks Bar in Munich
Supported by Ryan Inglis and David Spiegler
Munich, Germany – October 2024 – Rising Australian vocalist Tim Pitchford is set to take the stage for his first-ever international performance in collaboration with German guitarist Johannes Apfel of the band Axe Leisure at Kooks Bar in Munich on Friday, October 25th.
This exciting event will also feature performances from Ryan Inglis and David Spiegler.
Following his unforgettable performance with 30 Seconds to Mars at Brisbane’s River Stage, Tim Pitchford brings his powerful, rock-tenor voice to Europe for the first time. Known for his soulful, gritty vocals reminiscent of Chris Cornell, Pitchford’s raw talent has been praised across the globe.
Now, German audiences will have the chance to experience his electric stage presence and unique sound.
Johannes Apfel, Munich-based guitar teacher and professional musician, first collaborated with Tim when he sought out a vocalist for his band’s upcoming project. The two have worked together on session recordings remotely, and their new song, "Remedy," will be released in November under the name Axe Leisure. Fans at Kooks Bar will get a special preview of "Remedy" and other tracks from the Axe Leisure project during their live set.
Tim will also perform his upcoming single, "Before It Began," co-written with Austrian songwriter Markus Ganahl. Set to release in November, this powerful rock track showcases Tim’s signature vocals and has already generated excitement among fans.
Johannes Apfel is no stranger to live performances. A skilled guitarist, Johannes has been playing and teaching guitar since his early teens. He is passionate about expressing himself through his instrument and regularly performs live with various bands in Germany. Johannes also works
as a studio guitarist and collaborates with solo artists such as Aaron Brooks and Max Roxton.
He continues to teach guitar both online and in person.
Axe Leisure, Johannes’s band, is a Munich-based guitarist's dream duo consisting of Johannes Apfel and songwriter James Scobie. The band is driven by the joy of riffing, shredding, and harmonizing on the guitar.
Johannes shared his excitement about working with Tim:
“Tim Pitchford’s voice is something truly special—full of power and emotion. After hearing him sing, I knew I wanted to work with him. We’ve collaborated remotely, but this will be our first live performance together, and I can’t wait to see how our chemistry translates on stage!”
The event will be held at Kooks Bar, located in the heart of Munich's Glockenbachviertel, with doors opening at 7 pm.
Entry is free, but early arrival is recommended as the venue is expected to fill quickly.
