Als wir 2015 die Teppiche zum ersten ausgerollt haben, ahnten wir noch nicht, welche Wirkung dieses kleine, mutige Experiment haben würde. Niemand wusste, ob ein so entschleunigtes, kuscheliges Konzept in einem Club überhaupt funktionieren kann – sonntagabends, barfuß oder besockt, Downtempo statt Druck, Teppichboden statt Beton.

Heute wissen wir: Es funktioniert. Und wie.
Mehr noch – es lebt, wächst und verbindet.

Mit unfassbarem Stolz feiern wir bei dieser Beate Barfuß Edition 10 Jahre gemeinsam mit euch. Was einst als Idee begann, ist über die Jahre zu einem festen Ritual geworden: ein Raum zum Ankommen, Abtauchen und Zusammensein. Der älteste – und ja, der erste – Teppichtanz seiner Art.

Musikalisch hat die Barfuß-Reihe die Downtempo-Szene mit ihrer Beständigkeit und Hingabe nachhaltig geprägt. Über all die Jahre durften wir erleben, wie das Beate Uwe zu einem Ort wurde, der weit über Berlin hinaus – in ganz Deutschland und sogar Europa – für Downtempo-Musik steht. Ein Zuhause für tiefe Grooves, warme Klänge und offene Herzen.

Dieses Jubiläum ist vor allem ein Dankeschön an die Menschen, die diesen Ort über einem Jahrzehnt geprägt und geformt haben:

▷▷▷ An alle Artists, die mit ihrer Kreativität, ihrem Sound und ihrer Präsenz immer wieder die perfekte Atmosphäre geschaffen haben – auf und vor dem Teppich.

▷▷▷ An unser Team, das diese Abende mit einmaliger Gastfreundschaft, Liebe zum Detail und unermüdlichem Einsatz möglich macht.

▷▷▷ Und vor allem an euch: die treuen Gäste, die uns seit Jahren begleiten, genauso wie an die neuen Gesichter, die frischen Wind und neue Geschichten mitbringen.

When we rolled out the carpets for the very first time in 2015, we had no idea what kind of impact this small but brave experiment would have. No one knew if such a slowed-down, cozy concept could really work in a club — Sunday nights, barefoot or in socks, downtempo instead of pressure, carpet instead of concrete.

Today we know: It works. And how!?
More than that — it lives, grows, and connects.

With immense pride, we’re celebrating 10 years together with you in this special Beate Barfuß edition. What once started as an idea has, over time, become a ritual: a space to arrive, dive in, and be together. The oldest — and yes, the very first — Teppichtanz of its kind.

Musically, the Barfuß series has left a lasting mark on the downtempo scene through consistency, dedication, and a deep love for slow music. Over the years, we’ve watched Beate Uwe become a place known far beyond Berlin — across Germany and even Europe — as a true home for downtempo sounds. A home for deep grooves, warm textures, and open hearts.

This anniversary is first and foremost a thank you to the people who have shaped and nurtured this place for over a decade:

▷▷▷ To the bookers — Julia, Catalina, Nora, and Luca — who, with sensitivity, excellent taste, and a unique vision for slow music, have curated impeccable line-ups year after year.

▷▷▷To all the artists, whose creativity, sound, and presence have repeatedly created the perfect atmosphere — on and in front of the carpet.

▷▷▷To our team, whose exceptional hospitality, attention to detail, and tireless dedication make these evenings possible.

▷▷▷And most importantly, to you: the loyal guests who have been with us for years, as well as the new faces bringing fresh energy and new stories.
