Cosmopolitan, contemporary dance music and global grooves from Bashkka, Cashu, and THC: House, Techno, and more with a world-versed twist!

The archetypal club sounds from House & Techno and everything in between form the foundation of tonight’s euphoric lineup, but our trio of guests adds a globally informed spin to these beloved genres. Hailing from Brazil, Cashu is one of the driving forces behind the Mamba Negra collective, providing an essential platform for queer nightlife and globally inspired club sounds in her native São Paulo. She’s long been an internationally in-demand DJ, and her sets and mixes brim with the colorful and diverse energy she helps foster with the Mamba Negra parties. House & Techno, Breaks & Electro, Dancehall, and global Funk are just a few ingredients of hers vibrant and addictive brew.
THC’s music lives up to the vivid reference of her initials and artist name. The Bogotá-born and Berlin-based DJ thrills with a hazy and 90s-leaning interpretation of House and sedated euphoria, connecting eras and dancers on the floor.

Our resident Bashkka (derived from the Turkish word for >different<) is a vocal advocate for SWANA & queer representation within the dance music scene and for blunt and infectious, upfront grooves. After more than a decade within New York City’s bubbly and diverse Ballroom scene, she’s well aware of dance music’s roots in the queer & trans BIPOC communities and today’s tendencies of whitewashing its values and roots. Thus, she plays with an attentive ear for empowering sounds far beyond the Eurocentric dance music hemisphere. Her acclaimed first solo EP, >Maktub<, is a love letter to her own Turkish heritage and the queer community.

Cashu, eine der treibenden Kräfte hinter dem brasilianischen Mamba Negra Kollektiv, bietet in São Paulo eine zentrale Plattform für das queere Nachtleben und global inspirierte Club-Sounds. Ihre international gefragten Sets und Mixe strotzen vor der farbenfrohen und vielfältigen Energie, die sie mit den Mamba Negra Partys fördert. House und Techno, Breaks und Electro, Dancehall – das sind nur einige Zutaten in Cashus lebendigem Mischung.

THC, geboren in Bogotá und ansässig in Berlin, wird dem berüchtigten Ruf ihrer Initialen und ihres Künstlernamens gerecht. Mit einer dunstigen und 90er-Jahre-angelehnten Interpretation von House und sedierter Euphorie spielt sie sich durch die musikalischen Epochen.

Unsere Resident-DJ Bashkka (abgeleitet vom türkischen Wort für >anders<) setzt sich lautstark für SWANA- und queere Repräsentation in der Dance Scene ein. Mit  unverblümten und ansteckenden Grooves etabliert sie sich aktuell als einer der spannendsten Namen der jüngeren Szenegeschichte. Nach über einem Jahrzehnt in der schillernden und vielfältigen Ballroom-Szene von New York City ist sie sich der Wurzeln der Dance-Szene in den queeren und trans BIPOC-Gemeinschaften bewusst und kennt die Tendenzen, diese Werte und Ursprünge zu whitewashen. Daher spielt sie mit einem aufmerksamen Ohr für kraftvolle Klänge, die weit über die eurozentrische Einflusssphäre hinausgehen. Ihre viel gelobte erste Solo-EP >Maktub< ist ein Liebesbrief an ihr türkisches Erbe und die queere Community, die sie geprägt hat.
