International Deejay Gigolos, Disko B, Ultraschall, Tanzlokal Größenwahn, Babalu Club, Park Café—DJ Hell’s stations and affiliations as an artist read like a timeline of early Munich dance culture. Want more? He’s also been a resident at Tresor and Watergate in Berlin and worked at the capital’s famous Hard Wax. It’s fair to say DJ Hell is one of the most important and influential figures in our city’s nightlife and scene, and he’s one of Techno-Europe’s pivotal artists, too. Starting out as a DJ in rural Bavaria, initially fusing New Wave, Ska, Punk, Rockabilly, Hip Hop, and Disco, and later incorporating Techno and House, laid the foundation for his eclectic style and he is widely considered one of the Electroclash movement's central figures, too. The boundless and anything-goes mentality of the current dance music scene that defies genres and styles had long been championed by DJ Hell with his vivid inspirations and mixing style. >I was socialized with German electronic music of the 1960s and 1970s. There were no commercial aspirations; it was all about experimentation,< DJ Hell once said about his musical background. Now he’s back in the Blitz booth for a taste of his unique magic that has written dance music history.

DJ Hell isn’t the only well-acquainted Munich artist in the house tonight: our former resident Julietta, also one of the seminal Ultraschall club’s residents, is back for an immersive trip down Munich’s dance music timeline and a grand party. She walks the scenic tightrope between House and Techno with all its deep and dub, past and present facets. Joining the party are another two Munich mainstay: Jichael Mackson with a liveset and Lou Velvet. Jichael Mackson’s sly and satirical attitude toward Dub Techno, with dashes of nonchalant House, is already hinted at in his name. The long-standing Munich artist injects a healthy and subtle dose of humor into the delay-laden grooves. Mehr Referenzen? Er war auch Resident im Tresorund Watergate in Berlin und arbeitete im berühmten Hard Wax der Hauptstadt.
DJ Hell gilt als eine der wichtigsten und einflussreichsten Figuren im Nacht- und Musikleben Münchens sowie als zentraler Künstler der frühen europäischen Techno-Szene. Seine Karriere begann als DJ in ländlichen Bayern, wo er zunächst New Wave, Ska, Punk, Rockabilly, Hip-Hop und Disco mischte und später Techno und House integrierte. Dies legte den Grundstein für seinen eklektischen Stil, der später in seiner Rolle als eine der führenden Figuren des Electroclash-Movements gipfelte.

Es gab keine kommerziellen Ambitionen; es ging nur um Experimentieren <, sagte DJ Hell einmal über seinen musikalischen Background. Sein facettenreiches Erbe ist heute vielleicht präsenter denn je. Nun ist er zurück im Blitz, um uns einen Eindruck seiner Fähigkeiten und der Magie zu geben, die Dancemusic History geschrieben hat.

DJ Hell ist nicht der einzige Münchner Künstler mit historischem Vermächtnis heute Abend. Unsere ehemalige Resident Julietta, ebenfalls eine der Residents des legendären Ultraschall-Clubs, ist zurück für einen Trip durch die Zeitleiste der Münchner Dancemusic und natürlich: für eine grandiose Party. Sie balanciert gekonnt zwischen House und Techno mit all seinen tiefen und dub-beeinflussten Facetten.
Und weil aller guten Dinge drei, oder auch vier sind und ein Münchner selten allein kommt: Griasdi Jichael Mackson und Lou Velvet! Die verschmitzte und satirische Haltung, mit der Jichael Mackson Dub Techno mit einem Hauch von lässigem House begegnet, zeigt sich bereits in seinem Namen.
