The universe has many centers, and our human understanding of and interactions with climate change are diverse and multifaceted. Our collective response to climate change is often human-centric, emotionally charged, or socially and culturally influenced. This exhibition challenges us to reconsider our proclaimed place within the natural world. It opens a space to create a vision for an inclusive future that celebrates diversity as the ultimate source of resilience and beauty, and allows a learning process to unfold so we can explore our needs and wishes for the world we want to live in. The sky holds enough space for all of our visions and it is endless.
When the world is burning, when our houses get washed away, when people are forced to leave their homes forever - is this really the time to make art? How can art contribute a true value to combat the manifold crises we live in? When safe places become scarce, where can we find peace within the storm? Maybe it is the perfect time to make art, so we can start a conversation, to connect and create a counterpart towards the isolated, hyper-individualistic value system we live in. Our artworks do not provide answers to the climate crisis; they evoke questions that open paths of contemplation and reflection. Through artwork and research we can find traces of poetic moments of hope and encouragement, and also document our lives lived as witnesses to climate change.
