We’re back at Kafe Kult for another round of cathartic noise and incendiary emotion! Leading tonight’s line-up: City of Caterpillar. The Virginia screamo institution reunited in 2016, just as the world finally caught up with their untouchable debut. With a new LP in tow, they return with a sharper, darker, and more mature take on their beloved blend of screamo, hardcore, and shades of post-rock.
From West Germany, Tristis drag us into the void with their mix of atmospheric black metal, screamo, and doom: bleak, heavy, and bewitchingly beautiful. “Saved My Life,” claims Noverte‘s bold bio, but the formidable Italian screamo group don’t aim for anything less. Closing the circle are Cages, the self-proclaimed “basement emos” from Ludwigsburg, carrying the torch of early-millennial, emotive, and DIY-indebted hardcore to Munich.
