Dracaena // kiNk Open Air

Dracaena is a selector, record collector and curator, born in Cali, Colombia, and based in Berlin. Her practice revolves around salsa as an afro-latin sound, approached from research and deep listening, exploring the genre in a versatile way and opening it to different contexts. Her selections move between dancefloors, festivals, radio shows and cultural spaces within Berlin's music scene, where percussion and piano play a central role in energetic and immersive sets conceived both for dancing and attentive listening. She is part of a community of selectors and artists contributing to the city's salsa and Latinx scene. As part of the organizing team and DJ host of Berlín en Salsa, the city's first fully free salsa festival, she works in curatorial processes and is involved in community-based and awareness work.
