Northern Uganda. When Okumu’s village is attacked by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), he and his brother’s lives are changed forever.

Inspired by John Rwothomack’s own real-life experience of nearly being kidnapped by the LRA, Far Gone is a profoundly moving story of a young boy’s journey from childhood innocence to child soldier. Told with humour, poetry, and startling physical theatre, Okumu’s experience strikes straight at the heart through a powerful one-man performance.

The play was first performed in 2019 and following a highly successful national tour in 2022 co-produced by Sheffield Theatres, Far Gone returns this time to the global stage touring Germany, Taiwan and South Africa with additional performances in Sheffield, Manchester and London.

Inspiriert von John Rwothomacks eigener Erfahrung, bei der er nur knapp einer Entführung durch die LRA entkam, ist Far Gone eine zutiefst bewegende Geschichte über den Weg eines Jungen von kindlicher Unschuld hin zum Kindersoldaten. Mit Humor, poetischer Sprache und eindrucksvollem körperlichem Theater erzählt, trifft Okumus Erleben das Publikum mitten ins Herz – getragen von einer kraftvollen One-Man-Performance.

Das Stück wurde erstmals 2019 aufgeführt und kehrte nach einer äußerst erfolgreichen landesweiten Tournee im Jahr 2022, koproduziert von den Sheffield Theatres, nun auf die internationale Bühne zurück. Far Gone tourt durch Deutschland, Taiwan und Südafrika und ist zudem erneut in Sheffield, Manchester und London zu sehen.
