[DE] Dieses Jahr fällt der Weltfrauen*kampftag auf einen Sonntag – ein Tag, der weltweit für Solidarität, Sichtbarkeit und Selbstbestimmung steht. Wir nehmen dieses Datum zum Anlass für einen intimen Abend mit einer experimentell orientierten Atmosphäre, die Raum für künstlerische Freiheit und vielfältige Ausdrucksformen schafft.

Aus dem Kreis der vielen herausragenden Musiker:innen, mit denen wir verbunden sind, haben wir drei Acts ausgewählt, deren individuelle Handschriften ein beeindruckendes Spektrum eröffnen: von feinster, liebevoller Zerbrechlichkeit bis hin zu kraftvoller, drängender Präsenz. Gemeinsam entwerfen sie einen Klangraum, der emotional wie reflektiert ist – ein Raum, in dem sensibles Lauschen ebenso Platz findet wie anspruchsvolles musikalisches Erleben und in dem der Geist des Weltfrauen*kampftags in besonderer Weise nachhallt.

[EN] This year, International Women's Day falls on a Sunday—a day that stands for solidarity, visibility, and self-determination worldwide. We are taking this date as an opportunity to host an intimate evening with an experimental atmosphere that creates space for artistic freedom and diverse forms of expression.

From the circle of many outstanding musicians with whom we are connected, we have selected three acts whose individual styles open up an impressive spectrum: from the finest, loving fragility to a powerful, urgent presence. Together, they create a soundscape that is both emotional and reflective—a space that offers room for sensitive listening as well as sophisticated musical experiences, and in which the spirit of International Women's Day resonates in a special way.

Farida Amadou
New Solo Performance-“Darwinian 1.0”

[DE] Farida Amadou präsentiert eine brandneue Solo-Kreation – eine Erkundung improvisierter Texturen, die auf westafrikanischen Rhythmus-Samples, melodischen Fragmenten und Gesang basieren. Bekannt für ihre tief verwurzelte Energie in Noise und freier Improvisation, schlägt Amadou ein neues Kapitel auf und verwebt Echoe der Vorfahren mit radikaler klanglicher Freiheit.

[EN] Farida Amadou presents a brand new solo creation — an exploration of improvised textures built around West African rhythm samples, melodic fragments, and voice. Known for her deep-rooted energy in noise and free improvisation, Amadou opens a new chapter, weaving ancestral echoes with radical sonic freedom.

Simon Popp + Marja Burchard

[DE] Der Schlagzeuger und Komponist Simon Popp (Fazer‘, ‚9ms‘, ‚Poeji’) und die Multiinstrumentalistin und Komponistin Marja Burchard (Embryo) begegnen sich im weiten Feld zwischen Jazz, experimenteller Musik, Weltmusik und elektronischer Klangforschung. Popp lotet mit polyrhythmischen Strukturen und dem Spiel zwischen erdigen und luftigen Klängen die Grenzen zwischen akustischen und elektronischen Soundwelten aus. Burchard — seit 2016 Leiterin Embryo — greift auf ein breites Instrumentarium zurück (Vibraphon, Keyboards, Percussion, Posaune, Gesang u.a.) und übersetzt ihre Erfahrung mit globalen Rhythmen und Improvisation in dichte, vielschichtige Kompositionen. Gemeinsam eröffnen sie Klangräume, die zugleich zerbrechlich und kraftvoll sind, experimentell und reflektiert. Popp wurde 2023mit dem Förderpreis der Landeshauptstadt München ausgezeichnet und 2025 für den Deutschen Jazzpreis nominiert; Burchard erhielt 2023 den Förderpreis Musik der Landeshauptstadt München und 2024 den Sonderpreisder Jury des Hessischen Filmpreises für ihre Filmmusik.

[EN] Drummer and composer Simon Popp (Fazer, 9ms, Poeji) and multi-instrumentalist and composer Marja Burchard (Embryo) meet in the broad field between jazz, experimental music, world music, and electronic sound research. Popp explores the boundaries between acoustic and electronic soundscapes with polyrhythmic structures and the interplay between earthy and airy sounds. Burchard—head of Embryo since 2016—draws on a wide range of instruments (vibraphone, keyboards, percussion, trombone, vocals, etc.) and translates her experience with global rhythms and improvisation into dense, multi-layered compositions. Together, they open up sound spaces that are at once fragile and powerful, experimental and reflective. Popp was awarded the City of Munich's Sponsorship Prize in 2023 and nominated for the German Jazz Prize in 2025; Burchard received the City of Munich's Music Sponsorship Prize in 2023 and the Hessian Film Prize Jury's Special Prize in 2024 for her film music.

Fallwander

[DE] Die Komponistin Theresa Zaremba und die Violinistin Teresa Allgaier umgeben sich als Fallwander mit Keys, Saiten, Bogen, Reglern, Sticks und Pads. Fallwander ist Ambient Chamber Pop ohne feste Rollen. Beider Gesang ist stets gerade so warm, dass wir nicht frösteln, immer gerade so kühl, dass die Luft klirrend klar und die Sicht weit bleibt. Fallwander ist in die Ruhe hinauswandern, sich in der Stille fallen lassen.

[EN] Composer Theresa Zaremba and violinist Teresa Allgaier surround themselves as Fallwander with keys, strings, bows, knobs, sticks and pads. Fallwander is Ambient Chamber Pop without fixed roles. Both of their vocals are always just warm enough to keep us from shivering, always
just cool enough to keep the air chillingly clear and the vision wide. Fallwander is wandering out into the quiet, letting oneself fall in the stillness.
