The Pink Breath Show ist eine multidisziplinäre Aufführung des Debütalbums PINK BREATH von Daughter Of A Drum, dem kreativen Alter Ego von Aoife Nic An Tiompanaigh. PINK BREATH wurde im August 2024 veröffentlicht und von der Irish Times als „komplexes, nuanciertes und persönliches Debütalbum“ beschrieben. Das ACROSS Festival bringt die Musik des Albums in Form eines Duos von Aoife Nic An Tiompanaigh mit dem Multiinstrumentalisten Brian Dillon zum ersten Mal nach Berlin. Die Show erkundet das Potenzial eines jeden Titels innerhalb einer strukturierten, gemeinschaftlichen Erfahrung von Gesprächen, Gesang und Tanz. PINK BREATH wurde in Irland während der kritischen Jahre der sozialen Bewegungen rund um „Marriage equality and Repeal the 8th“ aufgenommen. Diese parallel stattfindenden Ereignisse fielen mit dem Schreiben des Albums zusammen und schufen damit zufällig ein Archiv dieser transformativen Zeit im irischen öffentlichen Leben, das dennoch in einer persönlichen Sichtweise verwurzelt ist. Daughter Of A Drum präsentiert sich wie ein originelles Lexikon der Freiheit und der Archivierung unserer Zeit durch digitale und Live-Kunstwerke und wird vom Arts Council Of Ireland, dem Kildare County Council und DLR Arts und Vamp und Fade PR unterstützt. The Pink Breath Show is a multidisciplinary live performance of the debut album PINK BREATH by Daughter Of A Drum, the creative alias of Aoife Nic An Tiompanaigh. Released in August 2024 to critical acclaim PINK BREATH and has been described as a ‘complex, nuanced and personal debut album’ by the Irish Times. In The Pink Breath Show, ACROSS Festival brings the music from the album to Berlin for the first time in the form of a duet with multi instrumentalist Brian Dillon. The performative event explores the potentials of each track on the record within a structured, communal experience of conversation, song and dance. PINK BREATH was made in Ireland during the pivotal years of social movements Marriage equality and Repeal the 8th. These parallel happenings coincided with the writing of this record, incidentally creating an archive of that transformative time in Irish life yet rooted in a personal point of view.
