FOG - An exhibition by Zeynep Alpay

I warmly invite you to join me at the opening of my first solo exhibition, FOG, on 03.12 at K4 Kulturbureau. Come join me for the opening and let me take you on a quirky trip where dreams take over, where imagination erases reality, where hope meets obsession. The Vernissage will start at 18:00. And if you can’t make it, don’t worry, I’m there all week between 11:00-19:00.

About the exhibition:

FOG is about the stages we go through while we want something, without realising. It is about daydreaming. It is about getting lost in possibilities. It is about desiring the next thing. It is about feeling excited, but always about “something else”. It is about comparing the current with what could be. It is about not being in the moment. It is about addiction of stimulation. It is about walking among clouds.

About the artist:

Zeynep Alpay is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Düsseldorf. Having moved to Germany from Turkey in 2017, Zeynep's work today is heavily influenced by the complex dynamics of living in a foreign country. The connection between identity and society, and how this connection effects interactions with the surroundings and the self have become main themes in the artist’s work. Originally a sociology graduate, Zeynep became a full time artist at the age of 29, leaving a career in corporate life. Even though she took place in multiple group exhibitions until now, FOG will be the artist’s first solo show.
