William Forsythe's THE SECOND DETAIL was first created in 1991 and celebrated its premiere with the Staatsballett Berlin in 2006. In 2019, the ballet was revived in a new version. The fast-paced work, one of Forsythe's earlier but very typical creations, has long-since featured in many classical companies around the globe with Forsythe pushing the dancers to the limits of balance and flexibility, forcing them to assume multiple spatial perspectives. Despite this intellectual approach, THE SECOND DETAIL is an immediate and sensual experience not least because of Thom Willem's electronic score which he originally composed for Forsythe's choreography.

Sharon Eyal’s choreographies can also be described as vibrant experiments on the border between precision and supposed excess. Her works strike a nerve with audiences and dancers. The uncompromising Israeli choreographer has long since found a very personal, unmistakable artistic signature. Not only was she recently commissioned by Dior to contribute to one of the recent fashion shows, but is increasingly conquering European dance stages. In her first new creation in Berlin, she explored the emotional authenticity with the dancers of the Staatsballett Berlin necessary for the interpretation of her pieces.
