The highly anticipated threequel to 2014’s »Guardians oft he Galaxy« and 2017’s »Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2« and the 32nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), this superhero actioner is once again written and directed by James Gunn and will be the final chapter for the ragtag space explorers. This time around, our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different as they are settling into life on Knowhere. However, Peter Quill (Pratt, »Avengers: Endgame«, »Jurassic World«) still reeling from the loss of Gamora (Saldana; »Avatar«, »Star Trek«), must soon rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them. With an ensemble cast of both familiar and new faces, an action-packed plot, dazzling visuals, and irreverent humor, this sequel is at least as fun - if not quite as thrillingly fresh - as both its predecessors.
