In this workshop we’ll dive into the fascinating world of status and power dynamics on stage. From commanding high-status roles to endearing low-status characters, you’ll be encouraged to step out of your comfort zone and explore statuses you don’t usually play. Learn how to create hilarious tension by flipping the status mid-scene and discover the comedic gold that comes from unexpected power shifts.

Bonus: You’ll pick up some clever negotiation tricks to navigate tricky power dynamics - on stage and in real life! After all, who doesn’t want to master the art of status in both worlds?

Level

Improvisers of all levels are welcome, and feedback will be tailored to where you’re at.

About the teacher

Edyta is an experienced improviser with over eight years of experience. Her improv adventure started in Warsaw, Poland, with Wigwam Impro Theater. After moving to Munich, she became a regular performer with The Blue Couch improv group, where she performs in longform shows. She also leads workshops at Rice Cookie Improv. In 2024, her love for improv and connecting with people led her to co-found Edge Improv Lab. The same year, she co-founded The Mind Meld, a platform that brings together English-speaking improv communities.

Important things to know

Please bring non-slip socks or ideally a second pair of shoes. We are not allowed to use our street shoes in the venue, and the floor can be slippery. We highly recommend comfortable clothes which allow for movement and possibly sitting on the floor.

We ask that you do not take photos or videos during the session.

The workshop is in English.

You may cancel for a full refund until one week before the start. Cancellation after that date is not possible.
