Every body is political. Permeated by expectations, prejudices, wishes and desires. For many individuals, the violent removal, alienation and appropriation of their own bodies is part of everyday life. Still, the short films featured here do not limit themselves to the examination of their protagonists' suffering. Instead, they are seeking ways to overcome politically motivated discrimination. Embodiment becomes an empowering key term: Who tells, who shows, and how is the body re-empowered and represented in the process?
