INTERFILM 40 | Conversation: Resilience of the Personal with Amir Ovadia Steklov

Das sagt der/die Veranstalter:in:

In his film "Invisible Countdown" Amir Ovadia Steklov grapples with his uncertainty, doubts and inner struggles regarding the war between Israel and Hamas. What does the unfolding situation mean for peace-loving, critical jews like him in germany? Are Jews in Germany free to oppose the war, or are they pressured to support Israel even if they disagree? We talk to Amir about his life and work, about the relationship between the political and the private. How do conflicts, wars and restrictive systems inscribe themselves in our personal lives? And how can film as a medium take up this relationship and be used as a means of resilience, resistance and personal positioning – also when it comes to protecting the personal from the political? A conversation about film, resistance and the personal in the political.
