Ki'Luanda and Miss Mellow – a match made in... Mittelfranken. Als die beiden Acts sich im Sommer 2025 hier auf einem Festival begegnet sind, war es musikalische Liebe auf den ersten Blick. So ähnlich und doch so unterschiedlich trieben die Musiker*innen beider Formationen ihre Mitmenschen (und sich gegenseitig) um Tanzen an, schnell war klar: Das müssen wir wiederholen. Nun freuen sich die Bands, ihre begeisterten Fans zu einer Doppelshow in Nürnberg (22.9) und München (24.9) einzuladen. Im Import Export können sich alle auf die treibenden, mit Prog und Funk versehenen psychedelischen Eskapaden Miss Mellows freuen. Umsomehr noch auf die begeisternde und elektrisierende Strahlkraft der Soul- und Funk-Maschine Ki'Luanda, dem Projekt der Künstlerin Melanie Ibemba aus Nürnberg.

Ki'Luanda and Miss Mellow—a match made in... Middle Franconia. When the two acts crossed paths at a festival there in the summer of 2025, it was musical love at first sight. So similar yet so distinct, the musicians from both groups got the crowd—and each other—up and dancing; it quickly became clear: We have to do this again. Now, the bands are thrilled to invite their enthusiastic fans to a double-show in Nuremberg (Sept 22) and Munich (Sept 24). At Import Export, everyone can look forward to the driving, prog- and funk-infused psychedelic escapades of Miss Mellow—and even more so to the exhilarating and electrifying radiance of the soul and funk powerhouse Ki'Luanda, the project led by Nuremberg-based artist Melanie Ibemba.

Ki'Luanda trägt das Herz der Stadt auf die Bühne. Ihre Songs prasseln wie warmer Sommerregen auf die Sinne – erfrischend, belebend, elektrisierend. Miss Mellow - Kanonen (Live at Theatron '25)

Wenn es ein Merkmal gibt, das die vierköpfige Band herausstechen lässt, ist es schnell entdeckt: Spaß an der Musik. MISS MELLOW treibt sich seit seiner Gründung 2019 voller Spielfreude in psychedelischen Klangwelten herum. In den Spielwiesen der 70er Jahre hat die Band ihr Zuhause gefunden. Im Sound der Münchner vermischt sich krautiger Psych mit ausufernden Jam-Parts, cleaner Funk umgarnt dreckigen Fuzz, fette Stoner-Riffs treffen auf psychedelische Eskapaden. Bei allen Unterschieden besticht dennoch das harmonische Zusammenspiel innerhalb der musikalischen Vielfalt, die sowohl zum Tanzen als auch zum Abtauchen einlädt. 2023 haben die Münchner ihr vielbeachtes Debütalbum veröffentlicht. 
Einer überwältigenden Online- Resonanz folgte eine Pressung auf Vinyl, die auch in der deutschen Medien- Landschaft ihr Echo fand. „Arrangement-technisch“ war die Platte dem Legacy-Magazin zufolge „großes Tennis“, gleichzeitig aber „angenehm unakademisch und mehrheitsfähig“. Am 23. Mai 2025 folgt nun über das griechische Label Sound Effect Records ihre zweite LP namens „Dancing Through the Earth“. Die psychedelischen Klänge MISS MELLOW's kleiden sich hier mehr als zuvor in progressivem Gewand, ein wilder und doch harmonischer Fusion- Ritt durch den Erdkern – auf dem man vor angenehmen Überraschungen nie ganz sicher ist. 

If there's one characteristic that makes the four-piece band stand out, it's easy to spot: having fun with music. MISS MELLOW has been exploring psychedelic soundscapes since its formation in 2019. It's in the playground of the 70s where the band has found its home. The band's sound blends krauty psych with sprawling jam parts, clean funk ensnares dirty fuzz, fat stoner riffs meet psychedelic escapades. Despite all the differences, the harmonious interplay within the musical diversity is captivating and invites you to both dance and dive in. The Munich-based band released their highly acclaimed debut album in 2023. 
An overwhelming online response was followed by a vinyl pressing, which was also echoed in the German media landscape. According to Legacy magazine, the record was “great tennis in terms of arrangement”, but at the same time “pleasantly unacademic and acceptable to the majority”. Their second LP, “Dancing Through the Earth”, will be released on May 23, 2025 via the Greek label Sound Effect Records. MISS MELLOW's psychedelic sounds are dressed in more progressive garb than ever before, a wild yet harmonious fusion ride through the earth's core - where you're never really safe from pleasant surprises.
