Wir feiern diesen Monat 11 Jahre le Pop Lingerie & 5 Jahre Le Splash! Und haben ein paar Überraschungen parat. Eine davon ist Le Pop Show am Donnerstag 30. März um 20 Uhr im Laden feat. 2 fantastische Bands:

The Mañana People (freak-folk aus Bonn) & Golden Boots (lo-fi aus Tucson, Arizona) teilen sich an dem Abend die Bühne!

GOLDEN BOOTS
“From the cassette tape wilds of downtown Tucson, Arizona: it's the Golden Boots!
Formed in 2002 by artists Ryen Eggleston and Dimitri Manos, Golden Boots’ music is a lo-fi and often ragged take on folk and pop rock. The duo has been joined by many contributors over the years, which has created a charismatic diversity in performances and recordings. The common thread among all Golden Boots’ output is their desire to playfully deconstruct American roots music with indie and punk-country spirit.
We are touring for our new full length LP "Liquid Ranch", a split LP on Kizmiaz Records (Nantes, France) with Thee Verduns (Metz, France) and a self-released split cassette with G.Rag/Zelig Implosion Deluxxe (Munich, Germany).
The newest Golden Boots album is called Liquid Ranch:
"Liquid Ranch is a culmination of the lived-in Golden Boots aesthetic: a blending the late 80’s/90’s lo-fi movement and cassette culture with elements of 70’s country. Replete with with hooks, rough hewn harmonies, the songs of Liquid Ranch are set loose to lurch and ramble in a unique sonic landscape littered with the absurd & sometimes dark wreckage of the American psyche”

THE MAñANA PEOPLE
Seit dem plötzlichen und völlig unbemerkten Erscheinen ihres Manifest im Jahr 2016 schwor das Weird-Folk-Songwriter-Duo The Mañana People, 100 Lieder zu schreiben, die die marginalen Wege des Pop-Genre-Diskurses erkunden. Nach drei selbstproduzierten EPs erschien 2019 auf Unique Records ihr Debüt-Album “Princess Diana”, eine exzentrische Sammlung von theremingetriebenen Honky-Tonk-Kompositionen, Elektro-Folk-Balladen und Horror-Songs, sowie eine Kollaboration mit dem Taufpaten des amerikanischen Anti-Folks, Bonnie „Prince“ Billy. Ihr zweites Album, „Song
Cycle, Or Music For The End Of Our Times“, ist ein weiterer Tauchgang in ihre exzentrische Mischung aus Pop-Sensibilitäten und experimenteller Selbstsabotage. Zwischen Freak-Folk und Art-Pop schwingend, überlagern sich auf dem elf Songs des Albums minimalistische Gitarrenarrangements mit unheimlichen Synthesizern und entfesselten Gesangsharmonien, die für
eine filmische Lo-Fi Ästhetik sorgen.
