Lener’s songs are hymns dedicated to what was, what could have been, and to the courage to keep going despite everything. “Maybe in another life,” she sings, while the drums pound away like a raging torrent of thoughts. A hymn for all the decisions that were never made, for all the crossroads that led into the unknown. A line for those who lie awake at night wondering what would have happened if…— yet therein lies its power: in the realization that it doesn’t matter. That any direction is the correct one, as long as it feels honest.
