Home-Less is part of a larger project that was developed between 2017 and 2020. The initial idea was to explore the concept of home through the experiences of the heroines-models with whom the author established warm friendships during their collaborative work in the fashion industry.

The project was shot in Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus. None of the models, nor the author currently reside in the places from which they originated, as depicted in the photographs.

Nostalgic sketches intertwine with reflections on the relationship between body and place. In this project, the heroines are young women whose professions entail objectification. Yet, in the eyes of the artist, they emerge as the protagonists of their own stories, each deeply connected to their homeland.

Following the escalation of the war in Ukraine in 2022, Home-Less took on new significance. It evolved into an exploration not only of one’s relationship with their homeland but also of the loss of connection to it, the inability to experience the feelings associated with “home” and experiences of emigration.
