Momotrope

[DEU] Momotrope ist ein Klangkonglomerat, vielleicht die Stimme einer Ausserirdischen, die sehnsüchtig auf den entfernten Sternenhimmel schaut, ein Prinz auf dem Mond, ein Scheinriese oder ein verirrtes Okapi? Ihre Musik hebt sphärisch in die Lüfte, träumt melancholisch dahin, und rüttelt sich dann selbst auf den Boden der Tatsachen zurück. Die Mixtur aus fein abgestimmten, teils sperrig schönen Synth-Welten, dem elektronisch bereicherten Drumset und zweier akustischer Stimmfarben verleiht «Momotrope» einen eigenwilligen Sound. Die Band sucht und findet eine Art konzeptionierte Weirdheit, mit jedem Song in eine etwas andere unvorhersehbare Richtung, und immer wieder überraschend tiefgründig, fast mystisch.

[ENG] Momotrope is a sound conglomerate, perhaps the voice of an alien gazing longingly at the distant starry sky, a princess on the moon, a pseudo-giant, or a lost octopus? Their music takes offatmospherically into the skies, dreams along melancholically, only to jolt itself back to the ground of reality. The blend of finely tuned, at times ruggedly beautiful synth worlds, the electronically enhanced drum set, and two acoustic vocal timbres gives Momotrope its idiosyncratic sound. The band seeks and finds a kind of conceptual weirdness, with each song heading in a slightly different, unpredictable direction, and always surprisingly profound, almost mystical.
