Morcheeba - Pioniere des Trip-Hop und genreübergreifenden Sounds zwischen Downbeat, Chillout, Elektro-Pop und Soul - kommen 2025 mit ihrem neuen Album „Escape The Chaos“ für ausgewählte Konzerte nach Deutschland. Die Tour führt sie am 16. Oktober nach Hamburg (Große Freiheit 36), am 19. Oktober nach Berlin (UBER Eats Music Hall) und am 24. Oktober nach München (Kesselhaus). Ein Muss für alle Fans der Band, die seit 30 Jahren die Musikwelt prägt!

Mit „Escape The Chaos“, ihrem 11. Studioalbum, beweisen Skye Edwards (Gesang) und Ross Godfrey (Gitarre, Keyboards) erneut ihr unverwechselbares Gespür für tiefgehende Melodien, eindringliche Texte und atmosphärische Sounds. Die neue Platte ist eine faszinierende Mischung aus elektronischen und organischen Klängen, geprägt von ihrer charakteristischen Wärme und Intimität.

"We’ve had a lot of people say to us over the years that our music has changed their lives or got them through something that was really difficult or traumatic. It’s a good feeling that you can help to heal people in your own small way," sagt Skye Edwards.

Vor drei Jahrzehnten begann die Geschichte von Morcheeba mit einer zufälligen Begegnung auf einer Party in Süd-London. Ross Godfrey, damals erst 18 Jahre alt, lud Skye Edwards in seine WG ein, nachdem er gehört hatte, dass sie sang und Songs schrieb. Was folgte, war eine einzigartige musikalische Partnerschaft, die bis heute andauert.

Die Band hat seitdem über 10 Millionen Alben verkauft, unzählige internationale Touren gespielt und sich mit Klassikern wie „The Sea“, „Otherwise“ oder „Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day“ einen festen Platz im Musikuniversum gesichert.

Ihr neuestes Werk „Escape The Chaos“ entstand in einer intensiven zweijährigen Produktionsphase, geprägt von Kollaborationen mit Künstlern wie Oscar #Worldpeace und El Léon Pardo. Der Opening Track „Call For Love“ thematisiert die Suche nach Zusammenhalt und Toleranz in turbulenten Zeiten und setzt mit ihrem tiefgründigen Text ein starkes Zeichen.

"Call For Love is very grounding, musically and emotionally. The world is so confusing and complicated these days. An apocalypse is always on the horizon, both personal and global. It is comforting to take refuge in music and love with those close to us," sagt Ross Godfrey über die Bedeutung des Songs.

Den Abschluss des Albums bildet der Titeltrack „Escape The Chaos“, der gleichzeitig seine zentrale Botschaft transportiert. Ross Godfrey beschreibt die Bedeutung dahinter wie folgt: “This whole record is a process of trying to reconnect with what really matters, whether it’s what in your heart or with the world, putting your feet on grass and feeling the earth beneath you. It’s about not being distracted by all the bullshit.” Skye Edwardsergänzt: “The song Escape The Chaos is about being able to press play and switch off. I love being able to do that with music. It can be a bit of therapy. It won’t bring about world peace, but it can bring about inner peace and calm.” 

Auch nach 30 Jahren Bandgeschichte bleibt Morcheeba eine musikalische Konstante, die mit ihrer einzigartigen Mischung aus Trip-Hop, Soul und elektronischen Elementen Ruhe und Tiefe in die Musikwelt bringt - und 2025 erneut live auf der Bühne zu erleben wird.
