My Pleasure: Reading and performance by Miss S.

Das sagt der/die Veranstalter:in:

Playful, revealing, and empowering stories of female desire— four saucy performance pieces, from cheeky flirts to hot flushes, told with honesty, humor, and heart.

This solo show brings together four stories exploring female desire at different stages of life through reading and performance. Some are autofiction, including "Carrie Bradshaw, Thanks for F**ing Up My Life*", where the narrator recalls her twenty-something self, navigating careers, relationships, and the art of seduction, and "Who Moved My Orgasm", following her two decades later, on a journey to reclaim pleasure after sudden menopause.

Other stories feature fictional characters undergoing sexual transformation, using magic realism as a catalyst for change. In "Meeting Mr. Right", Dora discovers a mysterious talking dildo on her 40th birthday, pushing her to embrace the woman she has always been afraid to become. In "The Tale of Nelly and her Pink Demon", a woman struggling to conceive encounters a mischievous pink demon who offers pleasure instead of motherhood, leading to a magical, lustful transformation that unsettles her husband.

These stories capture women in their most intimate, vulnerable, and often surprising moments—where awkward truths lead to bold choices that help them embrace their sexuality in unexpected ways.

Miss S. is a trained actress with a master’s degree in screenwriting from London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. She worked as a lifestyle journalist for women’s magazines for over fifteen years and has edited a sex and relationships advice column for more than two decades, gaining insight into readers’ secret desires and quirks.

She works as a voice artist for a Berlin-based international broadcaster and has received development grants from film funds such as FFA and a writing grant from Stiftung ZURÜCKGEBEN.

These days, she writes short fiction for live performance, bringing stories to the stage in hopes of sparking laughter and connection.
