East London alt pop artist Now Ex just kicked off a whole new era of dark, electro stadium anthems, the first singles from his highly anticipated second EP “Still Dressed For Winter”. The pseudonym for songwriter and critically acclaimed film director Nick Hampson, Now Ex is a multi-dimensional pop that was built for the big screen. Nick’s films, the most recent of which was nominated for an Emmy award in 2021, have a lot in common with his music – they both create and explore parallel worlds, one moment laced with painful euphoria and the next flowing with an infectious lust for life. This visual identity, anchored by colour coded eras, makes Now Ex gigs truly memorable.
Coming off the back of sold out shows at Camden Assembly and The O2 Academy2 Islington, a forthcoming 350 cap sold out show at Signature Brew followed by the famous Omeara in the spring, Now Ex is rapidly accruing a global army of devoted fans who champion his music like it’s their own, and turn out repeatedly to see him. Frequent support from Spotify editorial playlists, alongside radio play from the likes of the BBC and RTE radio, promises to make this a very big year ahead for Now Ex.
