Berlin community staples Poetry Meets and Lekker Collective join forces on a special afternoon of music, food and togetherness. Presenting Papua New Guinean-born, Australian-based First Nations artist Ngaiire as a headliner, for her first ever appearance in Berlin.  The afternoon will be opened by Monica Mussungo, and will conclude with a poetry vortex.

Join us for a soulful, jazz infused Sunday Get ready for an intimate experience filled with exceptional performances, delectable Nigerian cuisine, and warm vibes.

Hailing from the Eastern Highlands and New Ireland provinces of Papua New Guinea, (now) Sydney Australia-based, Ngaiire’s sound melds electronic future-soul, gospel, and big pop sounds, filtered through the lens of a First Nations Papua New Guinean songwriter. 

Hailed by Rolling Stone as delivering “a near perfect slice of hushed future soul, the muted synths cushioning Ngaiire’s endlessly expressive vocal performance,” Ngaiire (pronounced nigh-ree, rhyming with fiery) has made a profound impact on the music scene. Most recently, she collaborated with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for a sold-out 2024 performance at the iconic Sydney Opera House, celebrating the launch of her album 'Live at the Opera House'—a collection that reimagines her catalogue with orchestral arrangements.

Beyond her musical achievements, Ngaiire is a multifaceted visual artist and creator.  She is the painter behind her award nominated album cover for '3', and has seen her video work exhibited at the prestigious Art Gallery of New South Wales.

With a soulful voice that captivates audiences, she delivers authentic experiences, whether performing original compositions, covers, or jazz improvisations.
