Queer-Feminist Life Drawing - Art, Shame and Embodiment

Queer Feminist Life Drawing radically reverses the familiar gaze: instead of placing the female body at the centre of observation, judgement and aesthetic consumption, this event exposes a naked male body to visibility.

A unique evening between life drawing, performance, photography and conversation — relaxed, intimate, artistic and queer-friendly.

What to expect:

• A real, vulnerable nude model — a middle-aged man who has never exposed himself in such a radical form before. He is slim, but for various reasons does not correspond to the usual idealised image of the male body. His uncertainty will not be hidden; it will be part of what the room is invited to witness.

• A thoughtful confrontation with your own gaze — How do I look at a body like this? What do I judge? Where does curiosity become discomfort? And how does it feel to cross boundaries with one’s own gaze?

• Drawing, writing, observing or photographing — participants may sketch, write down their thoughts, simply watch or take photos of the nude model.

• An art therapist as host — the evening will be guided by a female art therapist, creating a thoughtful, open and supportive atmosphere.

• Open Q&A at the end — a conversation about the body, the gaze, exposure, masculinity, shame, embarrassment and judgement.

• Beginner-friendly atmosphere — no artistic experience is required. You do not have to draw “well”; curiosity is enough.

• Chill music and relaxed setting — an open, low-pressure evening in a bright and welcoming studio.

Duration:
2.5 hours. Please arrive on time so the group can begin together and the introduction is not interrupted.

Location:
Park Studio Berlin, near Treptower Park — a lovely, bright yoga studio with an intimate atmosphere.

Important:
Please bring your own drawing materials.

Ticket options:
A seat means you’ll have a folding chair during the event; the more affordable option is a seat cushion.
A VIP ticket means that, in addition to the event, you’ll also receive the model’s contact information and can discuss the experience with them before and after. A meet-and-greet in the days following the event is also included.

Queer Feminist Life Drawing dreht den gewohnten Blick radikal um: Nicht der weibliche Körper wird betrachtet, bewertet und ästhetisiert, sondern ein nackter männlicher Körper stellt sich der Sichtbarkeit aus.

Ein besonderer Abend zwischen Aktzeichnen, Performance, Fotografie und Gespräch — entspannt, intim, künstlerisch und queer-friendly.

Was dich erwartet:

• Ein reales, verletzliches Aktmodell — ein mittelalter Mann, der sich noch nie in dieser radikalen Form gezeigt hat. Er ist schlank, entspricht aber aus verschiedenen Gründen nicht dem üblichen idealisierten Bild eines männlichen Körpers. Seine Unsicherheit wird nicht versteckt, sondern als Teil des Abends spürbar sein.

• Eine bewusste Auseinandersetzung mit dem eigenen Blick — Wie bewerte ich so einen Körper? Was löst er in mir aus? Wo wird Neugier zu Unsicherheit? Und wie fühlt es sich an, mit dem eigenen Blick Grenzen zu überschreiten?

• Zeichnen, Schreiben, Beobachten oder Fotografieren — Teilnehmende können skizzieren, Gedanken notieren, einfach zuschauen oder das nackte Modell fotografieren.

• Eine Kunsttherapeutin als Host — der Abend wird von einer weiblichen Kunsttherapeutin geleitet, die einen offenen, achtsamen und unterstützenden Rahmen schafft.

• Offenes Q&A am Ende — ein Gespräch über Körper, Blick, Bloßstellung, Männlichkeit, Scham, Peinlichkeit und Bewertung.

• Perfekt für Anfängerinnen — künstlerische Vorerfahrung ist nicht nötig. Du musst nicht „gut“ zeichnen können; Neugier reicht.

• Chillige Musik und lockere Atmosphäre — ein entspannter Abend ohne Leistungsdruck in einem hellen, angenehmen Studio.

Dauer:
2,5 Stunden. Bitte pünktlich kommen, damit die Gruppe gemeinsam starten kann und die Einführung nicht unterbrochen wird.

Park Studio Berlin, nahe Treptower Park — ein nettes, helles Yogastudio mit intimer Atmosphäre.

Wichtig:
Bitte eigene Zeichenmaterialien mitbringen.

Ticketvarianten:
Sitzplatz heißt, du hast einen Klappstuhl während des Events, die günstigere Alternative ist ein Sitzkissen.
