Zineb, eine professionelle Trickdiebin und Hochstaplerin, bricht mit ihrer 11-jährigen Tochter Ines aus dem Gefängnis aus. Ihre Wege kreuzen sich mit Asma, einer jungen Mechanikerin, die in ihrem Alltag gefangen ist. Tagsüber träumt sie von der Außenwelt und nachts von einem Leben ohne Zwangsheirat. Eine lange Flucht beginnt. Von Casablanca über das Atlasgebirge bis in den Süden Marokkos und an die Küsten des Atlantiks: QUEENS ist ein weiblicher Roadmovie, gemischt mit Fantasy-Elementen. In diesem ersten Spielfilm interpretiert die Regisseurin Yasmine Benkiran die marokkanische Bildsprache neu, indem sie alternative Darstellungen von Frauen bietet.

Zineb, a professional con artist and thief, escapes from prison and takes her 11-year-old daughter, Ines, with her. They cross paths with Asma, a young female mechanic caught up in her daily life. By day she dreams of the outside world and by night of a life free of her forced marriage. A long run begins. From Casablanca to the Atlas Mountains to the South of Morocco and the shores of the Atlantic, QUEENS is a female road movie mixed with fantasy elements. In this first feature film, director Yasmine Benkiran reinvents Moroccan imagery by proposing alternative representations of women.
