In She Said, two journalists embark on a quest for truth that will alter the landscape of Hollywood forever. When Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor of The New York Times begin investigating whispers of abuse, they encounter a daunting wall of fear, silence, and intimidation. Undeterred, they bring forth the testimonies of women who have long been silenced, shining a light on the hidden abuses of power in the entertainment industry. Their pursuit not only challenges a powerful system but ignites a global movement, amplifying the voices of survivors and laying the foundation for lasting change. With riveting performances by two-time Academy Award® winner Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan, She Said from Emmy®-winning director Maria Schrader captures a momentous battle for justice that still resonates today.

Dr. Ursula Sautter serves as Deputy Mayor of Bonn since 2020. She is also the Deputy Chairwoman of UN Women Germany, focusing on topics such as violence against women and women in leadership. Since 2018, she has been a member of the CDU Bonn and is active in the Women’s Union. Previously, she worked at the Catholic Hildegardis Association, overseeing projects on women in leadership and inclusion in higher education and the workplace. Before that, she spent 14 years as the Germany correspondent for TIME magazine. Dr. Sautter is a member of and involved in various organizations, such as the Mid Atlantic Club Bonn, Leukemia Initiative Bonn, Woelfl Society, and Zonta Club Bonn.

Regina Bies has been a social worker at the Intervention Center in Koblenz for seven years, providing counseling to women affected by domestic violence and stalking. As a social scientist, she specialized in the intersections of language, power, and gender-based violence. As a survivor of violence herself, she co-founded the #ichbinjededrittefrau initiative, empowering women to break the silence around their experiences. Bies is also a board member of K.O. Kein Opfer e.V. in Munich, which focuses on sexualized violence. She further works together with Alice Westphal to establish a new organization by 2025 dedicated to training survivors as speakers, developing prevention programs, and supporting related research.

After the screening, we will delve into the critical themes highlighted by the film and the ongoing influence of movements like #MeToo in breaking silences worldwide.
