Breakbeats, Lowend und prägnante Texte – Live Bass Music...all dies verspricht die Musik von Skipback und orientiert sich dabei an Legenden der Club-Szene wie The Prodigy, Goldie, Wookie, MJ Cole, Burial, The Bug, Kode9 uvm. Fluide werden Genres wie Jungle, Garage, Dubstep, Jazz und Hiphop verarbeitet und als stimmiges Live Erlebnis präsentiert.

Für die richtige Stimmung und offene Ohren sorgt zunächst Yoshi Sukku – ein interdisziplinärer Künstler und Autor zwischen Jazz, R&B, Ambient, IDM und Bass Music. Mit einem überraschenden und druckvollem Solo Set transportiert Er seine individuelle Herangehensweise an Musik und das Leben.

Skipback formiert sich erstmals zum Quartett: Das Gründerduo, bestehend aus Arthur Kohlhaas (Synth/Produktion) und Lukas Heckers (Hybrid Drums), wird erweitert durch die Pianistin Svetlana Marinchenko und den MC The Funkologist.

Die 2026 veröffentliche EP Fractures bietet Einblick in die Klangsprache der Band. Wie sich diese dann Live umsetzt, wird in der Studio Performance zu Skanka verdeutlicht.

Zwischen Kontrolle und Risiko entsteht das Unerwartete. Diese Spannung treibt Skipback voran: Trommelfeuer, Build-up, Drop, Synth-Melancholie,
Vocal-Hype. Dieser Zustand, in dem Klang, Körper und Raum verschmelzen und der Boden unter den Füßen zu beben beginnt, ist unvergleichbar – Wer dies auch so sieht, ist hier richtig!

Breakbeats, low-end, and punchy lyrics – live bass music...this is what Skipback’s music promises, drawing inspiration from club scene legends like The Prodigy, Goldie, Wookie, MJ Cole, Burial, The Bug, Kode9 and many more. Genres such as jungle, garage, dubstep, jazz, and hip-hop are seamlessly blended and presented as a cohesive live experience.

Yoshi Sukku – an interdisciplinary artist and author spanning jazz, R&B, ambient, IDM, and bass music – kicks things off, setting the mood and opening ears. With a surprising and powerful solo set, he conveys his unique approach to music and life. Skipback is now performing as a quartet for the first time: the founding duo, consisting of Arthur Kohlhaas (synth/production) and Lukas Heckers (hybrid drums), is joined by pianist Svetlana Marinchenko and MC The Funkologist.

The EP Fractures, released in 2026, offers insight into the band’s sonic language. How this translates to a live performance is illustrated in the studio performance of Skanka.
