Taxi Salon: Contagious + Bruine + Clément Vercelletto + Augustė Vickunaitė + Martin Brugger
Das sagt der/die Veranstalter:in:
Taxi Salon presents multiphonic performances that interconnect scattered sonic bodies through hoses, tapes, and signals. The series is dedicated to contemporary music that moves between experimental and leftfield. The program seeks to confront commodified listening culture through preparations, détournements and destructions.
Bruine (France / Germany)
Bruine is between the concert and the sound installation. It is a question of extending the instruments using several loudspeakers of different natures, like the diffusers of the “ondes Martenot”, chosen and manufactured to color, alter and filter the instruments. Each instrument will be connected to several loudspeakers placed into the objects on the floor. The loudspeaker device offers different distinct listening points which disturb the acoustic/amplified relationship according to the disposition of the listener causing effects of multiphony, fragmentation and saturation. Diffusers as well as musicians will have to be mobile to inhabit the space in its volume and its different planes. Michael Thieke: Clarinet, Tom Malmendier: Percussions, Emilie Skrijelj: Accordion
Contagious (Germany)
Founded in 2018 by two innovative voices from the Berlin improvisation scene, Andrea Neumann and Sabine Ercklentz and the accomplished DJ Mieko Suzuki, CONTAGIOUS is a mixture of avant-garde experimentation and electronic music. Contagious aren’t just a trio. They are a whole organism. The guts from the inside of a piano, the tonearms of turntables, the puffing of a trumpet, the pulse of various effect processors and the interaction of Andrea Neumann, Sabine Ercklentz and Mieko Suzuki grow together, forming an entity, which is continuously developing. Their drive is improvisation. Their ideal state is the constant tension between action and reaction, between electronics, acoustics and experiment. Sabine Ercklentz: Trumpet, Electronics, Andrea Neumann: Inside Piano, Mixer, Mieko Suzuki: Electronics, Turntable
Clément Vercelletto (France)
Clément Vercelletto is a musician and stage director whose artistic research focuses on the points of articulation and clarity between these two entangled practices. He is specifically interested in the ways that sound might serve as a conceptual and structural premise for activating bodies and voices on stage. Vercelletto’s album L’Engoulevent melds mechanical sounds with organic rhythms to create a uniquely chiselled sound of trembling physicality and ethereal, squishy sonics. It was entirely composed on an portable chest organ whose pipes were replaced by bird calls, controlled via an interface, leading to vivid maximal soundscapes of overlapping mutated and multiplied birdsong – live, it becomes a stunning sculptural work made of amplified drones, modular synth, and French bagpipe (Boha).
Augustė Vickunaitė (Lithuania)
Augustė Vickunaitė is a sound experimentalist exclusively employing vintage reel-to-reel tape recorders to play articulating diverse layers of recordings including found material, field recordings, voice, music instruments, objects, and the whole spectrum of malfunctions of decaying technology. Auguste specializes in tape music, noise, and collage music, known for her theatrical and darkly humorous approach, often exploiting errors of analog audio equipment.
Martin Brugger (Germany)
Martin Brugger is a Munich-based musician and producer. As the co-founder of Squama Recordings, he’s been releasing records from a wide range of genres from Ambient to Jazz and Shoegaze. His own musical practise is informed by a heightened awareness of his sonic surroundings on one hand and deep introspection the other, crafting lo-fi folk tracks with a veiled pop sensibility. After 2020’s Music For Video Stores, he released his second solo album The Shell in June 2026. For Taxi Salon, he is preparing a DJ set of no-music, free jazz and electro-acoustic compositions.
Supported by Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung and the Cultural Department of the City of Munich.
