Interspecifics invites you to participate in the workshop The Book of Transmutations. Chapter 4: The Intelligence of Plants.

This workshop is part of an unfolding methodology for the collective creation of digital narratives, in which the human relationship with plants and the natural world is reimagined through alternative futures storytelling. Over the course of one in-person and two online sessions, we will bring together diverse research approaches and generative, AI-assisted technologies to develop a science fiction short story and an accompanying collection of digital media.

The writing process follows a flexible framework rooted in Latin American futurism, aimed at amateur writers and science fiction enthusiasts. This workshop offers an inclusive and collaborative environment where no previous writing experience is required.

The outcome of the workshop will be a co-authored chapter that incorporates augmented reality, sound, and visual elements. This will culminate in an expanded reading performance, where participants transform the book into a dynamic transmedia interface live at ZK/U on August 22.

Interspecifics lädt euch zum Workshop "The Book of Transmutations. Chapter 4: The Intelligence of Plants" (Das Buch der Verwandlungen. Kapitel 4: Die Intelligenz der Pflanzen) ein. Als Teil einer kontinuierlich weiterentwickelten Methode zur kollektiven Schaffung digitaler Erzählungen, hat das Format zum Ziel, die Beziehungen von Menschen zu Pflanzen und der natürlichen Welt durch alternative Zukunftserzählungen neu zu imaginieren.

Im Laufe einer gemeinsamen Sitzung vor Ort im ZK/U und zweier Online-Sitzungen werden wir verschiedene Forschungsansätze und generative, KI-gestützte Technologien zusammenbringen, um gemeinsam eine Science-Fiction-Kurzgeschichte zu entwickeln, begleitet durch verschiedene digitale Medien.

Der Schreibprozess folgt einer flexiblen Struktur, die im lateinamerikanischen Futurismus verwurzelt ist. Wir laden Amateurschriftsteller*innen und Science-Fiction-Begeisterte zum Mitmachen ein. Der Workshop bietet eine inklusive und kollaborative Atmosphäre, in der keine vorherige Schreiberfahrung erforderlich ist.

Der Workshop wird ein gemeinsam verfasstes Kapitel zum Ergebnis haben, das Augmented Reality-, Sound- und visuelle Elemente enthält. Diese fließen in eine erweiterte Leseperformance am 22. August ein: die Teilnehmenden verwandeln das Buch live im ZK/U in ein dynamisches transmediales Interface.

Der Workshop findet auf englisch statt. Es können 10 Personen teilnehmen. Zur Teilnahme schreibe uns bitte eine Email an plantstories.zku@gmail.com und info@interspecifics.cc mit einem Absatz darüber, warum du gerne mitmachen möchtest. Die Frist ist der 8. Juni. Die ausgewählten Teilnehmer*innen werden bis zum 11. Juni informiert.
