What to do with the world

Ob auf Bildschirmen, in zwischenmenschlichen Interaktionen oder unseren täglichen Wegen – jederzeit werden wir mit unzähligen Informationen und Eindrücken konfrontiert. Wie damit umgehen, ohne sich in der Reizflut zu verlieren? Formuliert als Frage und Antwort zugleich beschäftigt sich die Ausstellung „What to do with the world“ mit einem besonderen, oftmals weichen Blick auf die beizeiten kalte, raue und laute Welt, die uns umgibt. Drei Fotografinnen zeigen ihre individuellen Perspektiven, in denen vielfach die Schönheit des Banalen und Alltäglichen in den Fokus rückt. Sehenswertes, das anderen im hektischen Alltag eher verborgen bleibt: leise Schattenspiele, warme Lichtstimmungen und spontane visuelle Arrangements, die nur für einen kurzen Moment existieren. Sie begegnen ihrer Umgebung durch Objektiv und Sucher und halten sie auf analogem Film fest – in kleinen Fragmenten, die die Welt etwas leiser und wärmer erscheinen lassen. 

What to do with the world

From our screens to conversations and even on our daily commutes, we're constantly bombarded with tons of messages and impressions. How can we deal with all this without getting lost in the flood of stimuli? Phrased as both a question and an answer, the exhibition “What to do with the world” takes a special, often gentle look at the world that surrounds us - which at times presents as stark, rough, and loud. Three female photographers showcase their individual perspectives, often focusing on beauty in the mundane. Small sights that remain hidden from many others in their hectic everyday lives: quiet shadow patterns, warmly lit scenes, and spontaneous visual arrangements that exist only for a brief moment. They encounter their surroundings through the lens and viewfinder and capture them on analog film—in small fragments that make the world seem a little quieter and warmer.
