°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° scroll down for english version °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° alpha nova-kulturwerkstatt & galerie futura ist ein seit 1986 bestehender Ausstellungs- und Veranstaltungsort, der aus einer dezidiert geschlechterkritischen Perspektive kulturproduzierende und kulturvermittelnde Praxis verschränkt. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Zusammenarbeit mit Künstlerinnen. Aus einem feministischen Selbstverständnis heraus wollen wir einen Raum für die Verknüpfung von politischer Intervention und künstlerischer Praxis herstellen und daraus kritische Standpunkte für Kunst, Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft entwickeln. 2012 haben Anne Kohl und Katharina Koch die Projektleitung übernommen. Der Generationswechsel geht einher mit einem gezielten Ortswechsel von Berlin-Friedenau nach Treptow/Kreuzberg, um eine erweiterte und internationalere Klientel von Kulturproduzent_innen und Besucher_innen anzusprechen. Die galerie futura zeigt themenbezogene Ausstellungen mit Installationen, Netzkunst, Audiovisueller- und Bildender Kunst. In der alpha nova-kulturwerkstatt finden Veranstaltungen aus den Bereichen Film, Performance, Musik, Literatur und Diskussion statt. Die Kulturwerkstatt bietet außerdem thematische Workshop-Reihen (Video, Sound, Foto, Zeichnen, Performance, Schreiben) sowie moderierte Rundtisch-Gespräche zum professionellen Austausch von Kulturproduzent_innen an. Beratung und Unterstützung in Konzeption und Netzwerkausbau für Frauen in künstlerischen Bereichen gehören ebenfalls zu den Angeboten. alpha nova-kulturwerkstatt & galerie futura arbeitet seit Jahren lokal, überregional und international mit unterschiedlichen Partnerinstitutionen und Einzelpersonen im Rahmen temporärer Projekte zusammen. Spezifisch wird der Austausch mit Kulturproduzent_innen aus den Ländern Mittel- und Südosteuropas und der Türkei gestärkt. Der Verein ist in verschiedene Kunst- und Kulturnetzwerke eingebunden und versteht sich selbst als Knotenpunkt weit gespannter Frauen- und Künstler_innen-Netzwerke. 2010 wurde durch das große Ausstellungsprojekt beRUF Künstlerin der Themenschwerpunkt Arbeit eingeführt, der auf die konkreten Arbeitsbedingungen von Künstlerinnen in der Gegenwarts-Gesellschaft fokussiert. In Zukunft wird dieser Schwerpunkt in Form des interdisziplinär und international ausgerichteten Kooperationsprojekts Cultural Praxis as Lab/or weiter entwickelt. Die Verschränkung von Kulturarbeit, Prekarisierung und Gender wird als ein inhaltlicher Fokus ausgebaut. °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° alpha nova-kulturwerkstatt & galerie futura is a Berlin-based art space for exhibitions and cultural events with an explicit gender-critical perspective. The project was founded in 1986. It focuses on collaborations with women* artists. Based on a feminist self-concept, we want to create a space which combines political intervention and artistic practices to develop critical perspectives for the artistic and academic communities, as well as for society at large. Since 2012 Anne Kohl and Katharina Koch have taken over the artistic direction of the project. Along with this new generation comes a move from Berlin-Friedenau to Treptow/Kreuzberg, which aims to appeal to a broader and more international circle of cultural producers and visitors. The galerie futura presents thematic exhibitions with installations, net-art, audiovisual arts and fine arts. Events like film screenings, performances, concerts, readings and discussions happen at the alpha nova-kulturwerkstatt. Thematic workshop series (video, sound, photo, drawing, performance, and writing) and round-table discussions for cultural producers are also organized there. We also offer coaching and support in conceptional work and networking for women from artistic fields. alpha nova-kulturwerkstatt & galerie futura works with various partner institutions and individuals on local, interregional, and international temporary projects. One main focus is to exchange with cultural producers from Middle and Southeastern Europe and from Turkey. The association is part of different art and cultural networks and considers itself as a meeting point for an even wider range of women’ and artists’ networks. The multifaceted exhibition project beRUF Künstlerin, initiated in 2010, focuses on labour and the situation of women artists in contemporary society. A further exploration of this topic will take place in the near future through the multidisciplinary and international collaboration project Cultural Praxis as Lab/or. This project aims to additionally focus on the relations between cultural work, precarity, and gender.
